PROGRAM NOTE
Small pieces built of cycles, with material that turns over itself, spiraling and swirling. Zoetrope refers to the small rotating drums onto which images were placed that appeared to be animated when the drum was turned. They were precursors to motion video animation. The word itself comes from the Greek zoe (life) tropos (turning).
Each of these four small movements is dedicated to the memory of a person dear to me.
